All existing and new Visa cards are automatically registered, joining millions of Visa cardholders, for this free service. Throughout the world a growing number of merchants offer Visa Secure and eftpos Secure.
How does it work?
Each time you make an online purchase with a participating merchant, the Visa Secure and eftpos Secure programs assess the risk level of the transaction. Certain activity may seem out of the ordinary – maybe because it’s a high dollar value transaction, or a retailer you’ve never bought with before.
In certain instances you may be requested to validate your identity by confirming your purchase with an OTP (One-time Password) sent to your registered mobile device. Entering this password will confirm your identity and your transaction will be approved. This is so we can be sure the card isn't being used without your permission. Your privacy is our priority – this information is used only to verify your identity.
