What is family violence
Family violence is a pattern of abusive behaviour where one person uses power and control over another within a family or intimate relationship. It encompasses various forms of abuse, including physical, emotional, psychological, financial, sexual, and technological, all of which can cause fear and harm to the victim. Recognising the diverse manifestations of family violence is crucial in addressing and preventing it. Support services are available for those affected, and seeking help is a vital step toward safety and recovery.
If you are impacted by domestic or family violence, you can contact Easy Street’s Enhanced Care Team at 1300 01 12 71 between 9am – 5pm Monday to Friday. Alternatively, contact us on 1300 13 14 65 – 8am – 8pm weekdays and 8am – 3pm Saturdays.
Ways we can assist you with your banking needs
There are several ways we can support you; these include: –
- Review your banking arrangements and suggest changes to help you manage your money
- Suggest options to best support your safety
- Work with you to protect your personal and account information
- Provide advice on joint accounts
- Offer guidance with managing debts, lending and mortgages
- Open a new account
- Support you in obtaining documents you might need
- Assist you to changing your PIN and passwords
- Order a new visa debit or credit card
- Set you up for electronic statements view using internet banking
- Remove authorised signatories from your accounts to prevent access to information and your money
- Add trusted authorised signatories to your account to assist in managing your banking needs on a short term or ongoing basis
Regaining Control
We will work with you to regain financial control by: –
- Providing information about all accounts you hold with Easy Street
- Help you to open a new bank account or membership in just your name
- Changing your settings so you can access statements online safely
- Supporting you in finding solutions regarding jointly held bank accounts
- Assistance to access your statutory credit report to check if there are any other providers you may not be aware of
- Providing access to support for debt or legal advice
Staying safe online
If you’re concerned about someone tracking your internet usage, clear your browsing history on your device. Additionally, using private browsing mode can help keep your information confidential by not storing your browsing activity locally.

What other support is available?
If you’re in danger, please call the police on 000. If you or someone you know is experiencing financial abuse, there are free services you can access
- For confidential information, counselling and support, we recommend calling 1800RESPECT on 1800 737 732. This is a free and confidential service that isn’t part of Easy Street. If you need an interpreter or translator, you can ask for one and the counsellor will make the arrangements.
- Alternatively, you can call the Telephone Translating and Interpreting Service (TIS National) on 131 450, let them know your preferred language, and ask them to contact 1800RESPECT on your behalf on 1800 737 732. TIS National is available free of charge.

Suspicious transactions
Report payments or transactions that you are concerned may have been done by someone other than you or without your authorisation.
If there are payments/transactions which you have some concerns about or feel may have been authorised by someone other than yourself please contact as immediately. The quickest way to report fraud or unusual activity is to contact us on 1300 13 14 65, message us through the Easy Street App or email us.
PINS and passwords
Change your PINs and passwords, especially if you are concerned someone else knows or is using these without your permission.
Abusive payment messages
Deal with inappropriate language, harassment or abuse in the free text messaging description fields of electronic transactions.
